1.) Area of a trapezoid=A+ 2 * B
This is because A represents the middle rectangle, while B stands for both of the end triangles (and there are 2, so that’s why B is multiplied by 2)
2.) Area of a trapezoid= D- 2 * C
This is because D is the outlined rectangle that is a border around the trapezoid, and you subtract this by the two Cs around the empty space of the trapezoid. This will get you just the area of the trapezoid.
