My dad spends quite a bit of money on my tennis lessons - thousands of dollars a year. He says I have no respect for him and everything he does for me but I really do and I am so so grateful. But because he thinks this he wants me to work about 200 hours a year averaging about 4 hours a week. But I’m only at his house Tuesday and Thursday each week and get home pretty late. I’m with him some weekends but usually quite busy. Is it fair that he wants me to work this much. Is it allowed. I’m not getting paid for the work, it’s just to show respect for him and how he spends money and time in my tennis. Thanks for helping.

Answer:

no I believe it's no fair that he's making you work that much you need a break

My parents have felt the same way but about my soccer they also spend thousands of dollars a year. They also expect me to pay for car insurance and phone bills. All while playing soccer everyday and getting home at 9:00 at night. All the things they expect me to do so I decided to work when I can as a referee. But I worked it out with my parents talking to them about how I do respect them and what they do for me. We made a deal if I keep the house clean keep my grades up and show them respect in their eyes. Then I won’t have to work as much as they want me to. It’s just a matter of finding something that works for you and you’re dad. I don’t know if this helped but I hope it did.
