Mario fille a hummingbird feeder with 3/4 cup of sugar water on Friday .Monday , Mario sees that 1/8 of sugar water is left .how much sugar water did hummingbirds drink

Respuesta :

[tex]\frac{5}{8}[/tex] of total sugar was drink by humming bird

Solution:

Given that,

When the Mario kept the humming feeder on Friday it had [tex]\frac{3}{4}[/tex] cup of sugar water

When he sees on Monday, it had only [tex]\frac{1}{8}[/tex] of sugar water

So, this means the water is consumed by the humming bird will be the difference of the two values:-

[tex]\text { Sugar water consumed }=\frac{3}{4}-\frac{1}{8}[/tex]

On solving we get,

[tex]=\frac{3}{4}-\frac{1}{8}=\frac{24-4}{32}=\frac{20}{32}[/tex]

[tex]=\frac{5}{8}[/tex]

Hence, the amount of sugar water consumed is [tex]\frac{5}{8}[/tex] of total sugar at the starting
