Ted started his homework when he got home from school. He worked 45 minutes on his homework. He then walked the dog for 30 minutes. It was 5:00 when he finished walking the dog. At what time did he get home and start his homework?​

you take 30 minutes from the 45 and add it to the other 30 which makes it one hour. you minus the hour from 5:00 which ends up being 4:00. there's an excess 15 minutes so you take that away from 4:00 which gets you to your final answer 3:45.
