Brian has reduced his cholesterol level by 20% after his last check up. If his original level was 320, what is his cholesterol level
now?

Respuesta :

The present cholesterol level of Brian is 256

Solution:

Given that, Brian has reduced his cholesterol level by 20% after his last check up.

His original level was 320

We have to find what is his cholesterol level now?

The present cholestrol level is given as:

present cholesterol level = previous cholesterol level – change percentage x previous cholesterol level

So, present cholesterol level = 320 – 20% of 320

20% can be written in fraction as [tex]\frac{20}{100}[/tex]

[tex]\text { Present cholesterol level }=320-\frac{20}{100} \times 320[/tex]

[tex]\begin{array}{l}{=320-\frac{1}{5} \times 320} \\\\ {=320-64=256}\end{array}[/tex]

Hence, at present cholesterol level is 256
