A function is even if
[tex]f(-x)=f(x)[/tex]
A function is odd if
[tex]f(-x)=-f(x)[/tex]
In this case, we have
[tex]f(-x)=4(-x)+3 = -4x+3[/tex]
Since
[tex]f(-x)=-4x+3\neq 4x+3=f(x)[/tex]
The function is not even, and since
[tex]f(-x)=-4x+3\neq -4x-3=-f(x)[/tex]
the function is not odd, either.
