The Qin Dynasty followed the philosophy of Legalism. Basically, they tried to create an ordered society by setting up a system of harsh, brutal punishments to deter law breakers. Do you think it's a good idea or a bad idea to be harsh and brutal with criminals? Give me at least one example and a minimum of 2 sentences in your answer to receive full credit.

EX: I believe it's a bad idea because those that are pressured into crime or unknowingly/impulsively commit it at a young age get punished severely. As an example, if a young teen gets pressured into selling drugs and gets caught, the teen shouldn't be punished harshly in this circumstance as he/she had no choice. (You can extend if you want)
