The formula for slope is

In this case...
[tex]y_{2} =7\\y_{1} =-2\\x_{2} =-6\\x_{1} =-7[/tex]
^^^Plug these numbers into the formula for slope...
[tex]\frac{7-(-2)}{-6 - (-7)}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{9}{1}[/tex]
