To convert a percentage into a fraction, we must first convert the percentage into a decimal. We can do that by either dividing the percentage by 100, or (my personal shortcut) just shifting the decimal point over two places to the left.
38% = 0.38
Now, all we need to do to convert it into a fraction is put the numbers to the right of the decimal point above a multiple of ten with as many zeros as there are numbers to the right of the decimal point. In this case:
0.38 = [tex] \frac{38}{100} [/tex]
Now, all we need to do is reduce to find our fraction.
38 and 100 are both divisible by 2, so we will start off by doing that.
[tex] \frac{38 / 2}{100 / 2} = \frac{19}{50} [/tex]
And that is our answer.
38% in fraction form is [tex] \frac{19}{50} [/tex].
Hope that helped! =)
