The Odyssey - Amphimedon shows that Greek society valued loyalty because of the way option B. Penelope treats the suitors.
This can be seen by her behavior as follows:
• When Odysseus was away from his kingdom, people thought he might never return. The other kingdoms thought to capture his kingdom in his absence and decided to try to marry his wife Penelope.
• The suitors came to ask Penelope’s hand but she refused them all. Odysseus came to the court disguised as a beggar so no one could recognize him or try to kill him. He wanted revenge against the suitors.
• There were various suitors interested in Penelope. But throughout the story, Penelope rejects each and every one of them because she was faithful to her husband, Odyssey.
• She did not like the attention being given by the other suitors or the gifts they brought for her. All the suitors who tried to win Penelope’s hand met their end at the hands of Odysseus.
