I am not so good at these problems, so thank you if you can help!

A) Some doctors recommend that no more than 30% of a persons daily calories come from fats. Following this recommendation, if you eat 2,400 calories in a day, what is the maximum number that should come from fats?

B) When training for a fight, Rocky tries to maintain a heart rate that is 80% of his maximum heart rate. Rocky has a resting heart rate of 60 and a maximum heart rate of 175 beats per minute. What is his training heart rate?

Respuesta :

A.) In order to find the percent, simply take the total, 2,400, and divide it by 100.

2,400/100=24.

Then, take the result, 24, and multiply it by 30 to get 30% of 2,400.

24*30=720

720 calories is the maximum amount that should come from fats.

B.) You do the same thing here:

Maximum heart rate=175 bpm

Take 175 and divide by 100.

175/100=1.75

Then, take the result, 1.75, and multiply it by 80, to get 80% of the maximum heart rate.

1.75*80=140 bpm.

Training heart rate is 140 bpm (beats per minute).
