The ways to change of polarity of two atom molecule are-(i) one atom must be more electronegative than other atom i.e, there must be electronegativity difference between both the connected atoms, (ii) electron withdrawing or electron donating group can be connected to either atom.
More electronegative atom pulls bonded electrons towards itself making the bond more polar.
If electron withdrawing group is attached to any atom, it may cause electron pulling which makes the bond polar whereas electron donating group pushes electron which makes the bond more polar.
The polarity of the atoms can be changed by changing electronegative bond atoms and adding another atom.
When two atoms are connected their polarity can be changed, by changing the bonded atom. The binding of more electronegative atom will result in the change in the bond polarity and thus the atoms in the molecules express change in polarity.
By changing the medium of the molecule the polarity can be changed.
