If P(x)=3x + 3 and Q(x)=4x2 − 6x + 3, find P(−2) − Q(−1).

I know the answer to this (-16) BUT I want an explation of how to find this solution. Thank you

Note that the 2 in 4x2 is supposed to be an exponent.

[tex]p( - 2) = 3( - 2) + 3 = - 3 \\ q( - 1) = 4 {( - 1)}^{2} - 6( - 1) + 3 \\ q( - 1) = 4 + 6 + 3 = 13 \\ p( - 2) - q( - 1) = - 3 - 13 = - 16[/tex]
