Well if a society is able to develop a culture, it means that they have time to do that instead of struggling to survive. This would mean that a high standard of living (less struggle to survive) would cause the development of a culture because they have more time that can be devoted to culture. Hope that helps!?

But there is a bias in it, because while a person living in a country that offers it a lower standard of living can perceive it has the best quality of life without universal healthcare, free access to education, and a big market of employment. That person can believe that it has the best quality of life. Even though are countries with better standard of living. So, quality of life is a subjective cultural construction built by a society perception. That becomes objective and universal when is compared to different countries.
