In this passage from the Beat poet, Ferlinghetti, he is writing about the greatness of ancient Greece, their knowledge and their symbols that, to this day, still speak to us, human beings, from the depths of their history and tradition, in the voice of the poets that live with us and that, from that history and that inspiration, shine a light on humanity so that it can keep growing and moving towards a mysterious and inscrutable future that the poets envision as if it was a matter of divination.
