First and foremost you should make all of the fractions have common denominators. Since the common denominator is 2, multiply both the numerator and denominator of 1/2 and 3/2 by 2. That gives you: 3/4x + 2/4 = 6/4. From there, do reverse operations. Subtract 2/4 from 6/4, which give you 4/4, and then divide 4/4 by 3/4 and that gives you x. X should be 1 and 1/3. To check your work, just plug in 1 1/3 as x in the equation.
