The hypnotic susceptibility can be defined as the ease with which a person can be hypnotized. The hypnotic susceptibility varies from one person to another.  The hypnotic susceptibility of a person also depends on his will. A person who does not want to be hypnotized will score very low on the hypnotic susceptibility scale. Many other factors play an important role in determining the susceptibility of a person towards hypnotism.

Hence, the blank can be filled with 'vary from person to person'.
