I believe the answer is: Shadow side

According to carl jung, shadow side refers to the unconcious aspect in our mind which operates for us to solely do things that benefit us. It exist as a primal desire that help us survive in environment. Jung believes rather than denying it and pretend it does not exist, people need to accept it and control it to improve the qualtiy of our life.
