A slope of 1/2 means for every two units to the right we move up one.

We have to be careful here because the graphs don't always use the same scale for x and y.

The bottom left uses the same scale and does indeed go two units to the right for every unit up, so that one is the answer.

Answer: Bottom left graph

Step-by-step explanation: a slope is the degree of change in the y-axis divided by the degree of change in the x-axis. Therefore, d(y) / d(x) = 1 / 2

d(x) = 2 d(y)

Meaning for every two steps taken along the y-axis, one step is taken along the x-axis.

Solving for slopes according to individual scales, the bottom right and top left graphs both have a slope of ¼

The top right graph has a slope of 1

Bottom left has a slope of ½, which is correct. Solving, we have:

d(y) / d(x) = (5 - 2½) / (20 - 10) = ½
