The Civil Rights Act of 1964, which ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin, is considered one of the crowning legislative achievements of the civil rights movement.
Greetings!
The Civil Rights act, was an act enforced to end all segregation. This included- discrimination against race, color, nationality, the fact you were a minority or not.
Though it did not end all racism, it gave others of colored background equal freedom to jobs, to the privilege of voting, and other things that the average american has access to.
Hope this helps!
