The data administration component of a database management system (DBMS) is responsible for data storage, manipulation, and retrieval. This component  monitors, maintains and manages data id DBMS. The process is done by a data administrator and/or an organization.

DBA stands for database administrator. A DBA has either a degree in Computer Science and some on-the-job training with a particular database product or more extensive experience with a range of database products.
Database engine-is the component of DBMS responsible for  data storage,manipulation and retrieval.
It converts logical requests from users into their physical equivalents by interacting with other components of DBMS.
