Classifying Consumer Products
This activity is important because each category of consumer product has a different marketing mix, level of brand loyalty, and typical consumer behavior associated with it. The effort that the consumer puts forth in the purchase process, the number of attributes evaluated, and the frequency of purchase differ greatly across the product types. Therefore, marketing managers must understand the differences between the consumer product types.
The goal of this exercise is to demonstrate your understanding of the differences between the four types of consumer products by correctly classifying consumer product examples.
