At the beginning of the chapter we are introduced to Michael Bloch, a public defender in the Bronx. His client Jose accepted a plea deal (against Bloch's advice) requiring him to plead guilty to a misdemeanor offense and in exchange he'd receive "time served." This meant being released from jail immediately. Why did Bloch advise Jose against accepting the plea?
