If an applicant fails to achieve a passing grade on either or both portions of the licensure examination, he or she shall not be eligible to work in a barbershop until:
a) Retaking the examination next year
b) Completing an apprenticeship
c) Successfully passing the examination
d) Obtaining a waiver from the licensing authority
