Amanda cuts squares from the corners of a rectangular piece of aluminum. Each square has side length 2 centimeters. She then folds the aluminum upwards to make a box with no top. The length of the original piece of aluminum was x centimeters. The width of the original piece of aluminum was 4 centimeters less than its length. See the figures below.
