School-sponsored sports provide a host of positive benefits,
some of which are teamwork, good health, physical fitness,
and life lessons. However, as schools face budget problems
and injuries increase, it may be time to consider cutting
sports from school. Spending money on sports only goes to a
limited number of students, and these athletes can still
access team sports through club or recreational teams.
Cutting sports from a school budget can free up school
spending to focus on other, perhaps more important, needs.
The author mainly argues that:
a) Schools should cut sports from the budget.
b) School-sponsored sports provide many positive benefits.
c) School budgets need to be monitored more closely.
d) Spending money on school sports only benefits a small
number of students.
