Write a 500–750 word personal narrative using one of the below prompts.
Choose ONLY ONE prompt to focus on with your personal narrative (a story about yourself):
1. Write about a time you learned a valuable lesson. Show readers what you learned from the experience.
2. Write a story about a time you learned a secret. What did you do with this information?
3. Write about a time you resolved a conflict with someone in your life.
4. Write a narrative about a time when you broke the rules. Show readers what you learned from the experience. (Maybe you regretted it. Or, maybe you made the right choice!)
Requirements
Your personal narrative MUST have the following:
• A complete plot with a beginning, middle, and end following the plot diagram
• First-person point of view narration (uses the pronouns: I, me, my, we)
• Setting—the place your personal narrative took place (example: home, school, store)
• Dialogue between two characters: click here for help on dialogue.
• Events told in chronological order—the order in which they happened in real-time, from start to finish
• Edit and proofread for errors in spelling, capitalization, and punctuation
• Complete sentences
