Your patient is an 80 year old nursing facility
resident in respiratory arrest. A nurse provides you
with a properly executed POST form. The patient
has chosen DNR in Section A and limited additional
interventions in Section B. Your treatment will
include:
Insertion of basic airway, assist ventilations, IV,
cardiac monitor, transport
Intubate, assist ventilations, IV, cardiac
monitor, transport to the hospital
Transport to the hospital but otherwise respect
the DNR and do not treat
Make her comfortable and leave in the care of
the nursing facility since she is a DNR
