Read paragraph 2. How does the author use a logical appeal to
introduce the central idea?
And yet for all the appeal of cities, the 2018 census shows that
small towns and rural communities are experiencing significant
growth. There is a trend of younger adults, in their thirties and
forties, moving back to their small hometowns or striking out on
their own in the country. Thanks to the ubiquity of the Internet,
many professionals can work from home in the countryside
while their main office remains in the city. Some of these
trendsetters are leaving their city jobs behind to try to earn a
living by farming or crafting goods by hand.
How does the author use a logical appeal to introduce the central
idea?
The author compliments people in their thirties and forties by still
considering them to be young which develops the idea that cities are
no longer a popular place to live.
The author cites a fact that was pulled from the census to support the
idea that people are moving out of large cities.
The author notes that he considers himself a trendsetter and therefore
proves that moving out of the city is more desirable.
The author states the fact that farming or crafting goods by hand is an
adventure which supports the idea that country living is better than
living in a big city.
