Why can't Mercator charts be used in polar regions?
1) The Mercator projection distorts the size of objects as you move away from the equator.
2) The Mercator projection does not accurately represent the shape of landmasses near the poles.
3) The Mercator projection cannot accurately depict the curvature of the Earth near the poles.
4) The Mercator projection does not account for the extreme weather conditions in polar regions.
