Our country’s national debt has set a new record. On January 2, our country’s Ministry of Finance released a report showing that our country’s federal debt reached US$34 trillion for the first time. According to analysis by my country's Peter Peterson Foundation, $34 trillion means that each person is burdened with $100,000 in debt, and if each family pays off debt at a rate of $1,000 per month, it will take 22 years to pay it off. The growing "debt snowball" is putting increasing pressure on our country's economy.
