Consider an auto dealership, what has to keep track of relationships between Customers, Cars, Salespersons, and Transactions. The following business rules apply in this system:
- A customer can complete several transactions but must have completed at least one to be in the system. A transaction is completed by one customer at a time.
- A salesperson can wait on multiple customers, or may have no customers at a given time. Each customer can be waited on by more than one salesperson at a time.
- A customer can buy one car, or more than one car, during a transaction, but each car is purchased by only 1 customer at a time.
- A car is recorded on only one transaction record at a time, but a transaction record can record many cars.
There may be others here as well that you may think of.
Draw the resulting E-R diagram from the situation described above. Be sure to list a primary key and at least 2 additional attributes for each entity, and be sure to show the cadinality in Crow's Foot notation for each relationship.
