A single phase low frequency induction furnace is operated with its crucible full to the brim with charge. Its secondary voltage is 12 V and takes 300Kw at 0.5p.f. Assume that the reactance remains constant but the resistance of the secondary circuit varies inversely as the height of the charge, determine the height upto which the crucible should be filled to obtain maximum heating effect.
