I think that the best way to connect with somebody when you are sharing a presentation or your ideas is to put yourself in their shoes and to imagine what it would be like if you were the one reading or listening to this specific presentation and to think about how you would react. I think that it is crucial to be able to connect with the audience and with a story the listener can connect deeper emotionally and feel as if they have experienced what you are talking about sometimes. I would say that is the best way to connect with your audience in a presentation along with making sure your presentation is not too long or wordy and is entertaining to the audience members.
