Describe and explain the process which the Beatles called "random" and illustrate its importance to some specific Beatle works as well as its connection to Surrealist aesthetics. In addition to discussing “random” as a process or technique for generating material, consider: Is there a philosophical perspective implicit in these artists’ use of “random” procedures? If so, how would you describe it?
