REACTION PAPER
A reaction paper is an essay that shows how someone feels about something, how a
specific thing effects you. It is not a summary of a story. The reader of the essay already
knows the story in which you are reacting to, therefore you do not need to tell the whole
story.
What must be done:
1) Write at least 1-2 pages minimum in essay form.
2) No summary of movie; you can not simply state what happened in the movie,
instead you must write about how the movie makes you feel.
3) You must use examples from the movie.
4) Here are questions to help guide you through your essay.
a) How did you personally feel after the movie?
b) What do you think of the District Attorney and his role in the story?
c) Should the coach have had to resign from the school?
d) Do we as a society try and regulate morality?
e) Should something have happened to Crystal Mangum at the end?
f) How does the story show how wealth in America affects the justice system?
g) How does race relations and profiling play a role in the story?
h) ANYTHING ELSE THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO DISCUSS IN YOUR
ESSAY THAT IS NOT ON THIS LIST, BUT YOU FEEL IS IMPORTANT AND
IS MORE THAN A MERE SUMMARY OF THE MOVIE.
