3. Many countries do different things in their elections. For example in Australia, you can be fined if you don't vote. In France, there is a news blackout for the 48 hours prior to election day...there can be no appearances by the candidates and nothing can be said on TV or in newspapers about the election...except to say that it is being held. In England and Canada, elections are done very quickly...none of this two years of running for office that we see in American elections.
