We have all seen rising gas prices over the last few months. To help alleviate rising bills at the gasoline pump, suppose the government provides a $50 "gas card" to each driver in each month. The gas card can be used to help pay for gas. In essence, the driver would be receiving $50 worth of free gas (that is, free to him or her) each month. Explain using supply and demand why a driver would likely benefit by less than $50 from this policy.
