Progress Report - Communication Exercises 3 - (5%) General Project Information • Objectives of the project: o To act as "consultants" for people who are preparing to work in a new culture. To research business norms and practices. o o To apply critical thinking skills to connect those practices to the elements and dimensions studied in class, to anticipate possible barriers to successful interaction, and to propose strategies for successful interaction. o To communicate your research and analysis to those who may work and interact in the culture. o To evaluate the communication and teamwork skills of each member of your group and yourself. Research Topic Assume your audience will be working with people from a culture that is unfamiliar to them. What do they need to know to be effective and appropriate in their interactions? The project will be done in culturally-diverse groups (if possible), approved by the professor. o Class hours will be designated for group research and collaboration. o Put your Active Listening and Intercultural Communication skills into practice! You will be evaluated by your group members on your teamwork skills. o No repetition of countries to be researched is allowed.
