PURPOSE

The Purpose of this assignment is to gain an understanding and explain the importance of an
organizations’ culture, and how it affects the growth and productivity of an organization.


BACKGROUND

Assignment Two (15%)

Based on the information in class, the textbook, publications and your own research, explain the
importance of an organizations culture for the ongoing growth and increased productivity of the firm.
Please provide examples of how an employer can improve company productivity through their
corporate culture. In order to illustrate your position, you may draw from current (or past) situations
that have come to light in the mainstream media. As always, please note all sources with proper
citations. But please use an example from a specific company or organization.


REQUIREMENTS

Using the textbook, PowerPoint slides, information from class and current media outlets, and your
own research, submit a paper that discusses your perspective on how a company/organization can
establish (or has established), maintain or change/enhance an organizations culture. It could be a for
profit company, or not for profit organization. Outline the importance of this cultural identity, how is it
defined, who is responsible for it, and how it might be changed, maintained or enhanced for the
wellbeing of all stakeholders.

You may include the following discussion points to assist you:
 Give relevant background information from the chapter and/or class discussion. Provide
definitions of key terms and phrases
 Provide a detailed analysis of how a corporate/organization’s culture is established
 Proved a road map of how a corporate culture might be changed/augmented
 Discuss new trends and emerging issues in the area of corporate culture as it relates to total
