For this term project, you’ll describe and analyze the operations practice (or some aspects/areas of the operations practice) of a real-world community/local business of your choosing by applying course concepts and tools you’ve learned in this course. You’ll describe the current operations practice of that organization, identify the issues/problems/weakness (or opportunities for improvement) of that organization’s current operations practice, and provide recommendations to address the issues to improve its performance.
A good paper is expected to be original, in-depth, with feasible recommendations. Preferably the organization is one that you personally are very familiar with, for instance, as its owner, current or former employee, customer, a frequent visitor, or a close observer, etc. You shall be able to collect first hand data/information about that organization, for instance, your current or previous employer. In other words, the main source of information shall not be what anyone can collect on the Internet.
