To properly apply Hubble’s Law, we must assume that the velocity measured for a galaxy is entirely attributable to the expansion of space and not to other sources of motion. Then why does Hubble’s Law not work very well for nearby galaxies like the dwarf galaxy satellites of our Milky Way?
