Explain how ethical dilemma for HR in a multi-national firm:
What does one do when an employment practice that is illegal or unethical in the home country is legal and acceptable in the host country?
There are three principles that are used:
Ethical relativism – which suggest that what is right is whatever a society defines as right. Implies that here is not absolute right or wrong
Ethical absolutism – This is the view that there is a single set of universal ethical principles, which apply at all times, in all circumstances, in all cultures
Cosmopolitanism –through collaboration and imagination, to develop a unique response to a cross-cultural ethical dilemma, one that tries to find the common ground among this disparate views
