The thing about systems thinking is that it promotes a holistic view of how the various components contribute to an outcome. While a single business process may be only one part of the entire operation for a department, and subsequently, a company - it will always roll up into the full operations and mission for the whole company. Managers should have a good grasp on how process components relate to each other, leading into that holistic view.
What are the risks to a company if the managers cannot see the bigger picture. and only focus on the details of the process as opposed to understanding how all the components relate to one another as a whole?
