For each of the following scenarios, which high-trust behavior(s) would you use to "solve" the problem? a. Your boss has a problem trusting others, including you. She constantly looks over your shoulder, gives unsolicited suggestions, and reverses a lot of your decisions. You’ve finally worked up the courage to meet with her about it. b. Your relationship with a peer manager in your organization is strained because (in your opinion) he doesn’t cooperate effectively with you, and collaboration between your two departments is critical. The situation needs to change, so you decide to meet with this person. c. A team member has approached you with a complaint. He says that you give the best and most interesting assignments to a few select team members (your favorites) and don’t delegate any important assignment to him. d. Your direct report is a cynic who belittles the organization at every turn. No matter what management does, she pours scorn on it and demoralizes other people. You don’t want to lose this employee because she’s very good at her job. You want to address this situation with her. e. You recently promoted an eager, likable worker to supervise a small team. Since he took over, there have been complaints from the team that he has let his new status go to his head, he is micromanaging them, and some of them want to quit. 2. Select one of the above scenarios and write a script to respond to the scenario, using two or more of the high-trust behaviors. 3. Identify which of the 13 Behaviors is your strongest.
