Large commercial airplanes typically fly at cruising altitudes that put them at approximately the border between the troposphere and the stratosphere. Smaller planes or planes on shorter routes typically fly much lower. Please explain the differences that would exist in temperature, pressure and moisture that would be observable if the two planes (one a large plane flying a long route and the other a small plane flying a short route) measure the external environment while in flight? Discuss the formation and growth of hurricanes. When do they occur, how are they related to low pressure, where do they get their energy, and why do they finally lose strength and dissipate?
