If a trans male would like to start testosterone would he have to be seeing a therapist regularly to get a letter of approval for insurance or can he go see a therapist a few times to get a gender dysphoria diagnosis and a letter? If he wishes to not use insurance, how much would getting testosterone be out of pocket? Would it be a monthly payment or would he only have to pay once?
